Join the Tutorial Team

The Tutorial team is looking for a smart, motivated, creative, independent person to join our team! We are looking for someone with a unique blend of programming, writing, and communication skills. Furthermore, the person must be able to quickly assimilate information, make good decisions, and be able to understand a breadth of technical information.

ATTENTION COLLEGE STUDENTS! The Java Tutorial team is also looking for student interns, who can program and write. Sun has a great intern program, which includes limited relocation expenses. You must currently be enrolled in a college or university Bachelors, Masters, or PhD program. If you're interested, please send us your resume and a cover letter as per the instructions below.

The new Tutorial team member will be responsible for

Maintaining the examples and technical content for the trails that appear in The Java Tutorial Continued book.
Reading all e-mail that comes to the Tutorial's e-mail address and taking appropriate action.
Corresponding with readers, sometimes answering technical questions.
Potentially growing into a contributing author to the Tutorial.
Other tasks as necessary.

Experience required:

3+ years programming experience in an object-oriented language (Java platform preferred).
3+ years writing experience.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, or the equivalent experience.

Familiarity with UNIX, Perl, HTML, SCCS, and Code Manager tools is a definite plus.

The position is on-site in Cupertino, California. Unfortunately, we cannot consider an off-site team member at this time. US citizenship or an H-1 Visa is required. At this time we are considering both contractors and permanent employees.
